SEAL POINT ESTATES

FRIEDA RIGAARD

Frieda was a skilled draughtswoman and her husband Jan, an entrepreneur. Their friendship and involvement with village founder John Booysen gave them a firm grounding in the local property market, helping them to establish lifelong relationships within the community of Cape St Francis.

Frieda’s involvement in property marketing was a natural progression, and in 1980 Seal Point Estates was founded. Having completed the National Diploma in Property Valuation, Frieda was appointed an Appraiser for Late Estates by the Minister of Justice in accordance with The Administration of Estates Act No. 66 of 1965. Frieda also holds a National Diploma of the Institute of Administration and Commerce.

Entering the Cape St Francis property market, proved to be an enduring strategy. As an independent family business, Seal Point Estates has served the Cape St Francis community successfully for over 40 years.

JAL RIGAARD

Jal was born into the village of Cape St Francis and has spent his formative years enjoying the spoils of growing up within the coastal village setting. He pursued surfing from a young age, obtaining his provincial colours in 2002, as well as enjoying a myriad of outdoor activities.

Jal was always part of the family business. During school holidays the youngster worked and learned the ropes in the family-owned convenience store, restaurant and estate agency. It was only natural that after school he would pursue his education in the property field which was and still is, the family’s predominant interest.

While working, he graduated from UNISA in 2007 with a National Diploma: Real Estate with majors in Property Economics and Finance and Property Practice. He then set out to gain valuable experience in the professional property consulting industry, working for Kouga Consortium of Valuers, as well as completing an additional major in the field of Property Valuation.

He entered the family business once again in 2009. You will now find Jal at Seal Point Estates or his convenience store, Cape St Francis Mini Market, plying the trades he grew up in.

Jal also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Management from the University of South Africa. He also volunteers as a qualified rescue coxswain at NSRI Station 21, St Francis Bay.
